OFFICIAL ENTRY OF ARMERIA ESKOLA INTO THE EMEU PROGRAMME
Imanol Urreisti, director of Armeria Eskola, Alina Ivan, head of the Internationalisation area, and Asier Gabilondo, head of the electricity department, took part in the official ceremony of incorporation into the EMEU programme held on 9 May in Munich. At the event, Markus Meier, director of the Städtische Berufsschule, awarded Armeria Eskola with the official certificate of entry into the EMEU programme, which enables our students to take three-week courses in five European countries: Germany, Denmark, Finland, Holland and the United Kingdom. Foreign students will also be able to take them at Armeria Eskola.
The idea of joining the programme arose last year, when a group of Industrial Automation and Robotics teachers visited Germany to analyse the needs and demands of Industry 4.0. It was there that they prepared the automation modules together with the teachers from the Munich school. The pilot programme was then launched, in which 8 German students came to Armeria Eskola to take a course on programmable automatons. Once the teachers’ meetings and the experience of the German students in Eibar had been evaluated, Armeria Eskola was officially invited to join the EMEU programme. The signature was formalised on 9 May in Munich, and thanks to this, next year, Armeria Eskola students will take an automation course in Germany.
For the moment, the programme is limited to the Industrial Automation and Robotics cycle, but Armeria Eskola’s aim is to extend it to other cycles, such as: Mekatronics, Mechanical Manufacturing and Telecommunications and Computer Systems.
INTERNATIONALISATION AT ARMERIA ESKOLA
In recent years, Armeria Eskola has been firmly committed to internationalisation. Our objectives are linguistic and cultural cooperation, strengthening the autonomy and leadership of our students and training professionals with an international vision. Committed to quality and continuous improvement, the culture of internationalisation is already a reality in our school.
Internationalisation Network
Since the 2004-2005 academic year, Armeria Eskola has participated in several international projects that have created a strong relationship with students and teachers from different countries.
On the one hand, we have carried out a cooperation project for innovation and the exchange of good practices with schools in Poland, Bulgaria and Turkey. On the other hand, we have hosted Belgian students for several years, working with them on mechatronics and industrial automation modules.
Thanks to the Erasmus grants managed by Ikaslan, our students have an unbeatable opportunity to carry out work placements abroad (Ireland, Poland, England) and get to know other ways of ‘being and doing’ before entering the world of work.
Through the European Union’s Erasmus mobility programme, our teachers go to schools in Holland, Finland, the United Kingdom and other countries to observe their daily activities, learn and share experiences.
Last year, the Alumni Association of the School of Armoury, Armeria Eskola, started the Irasuegui internationalisation project, with the aim of responding to the demands of the participating employers. From the outset, the project has enjoyed the collaboration of Eibar Town Council, the SD Eibar Foundation and La Caixa. This financial aid is aimed at companies and its objective is to facilitate the recruitment of students who have just graduated to work in foreign subsidiaries of local companies.
