Process Automation with PLC,
The aim in this module is to design, program and carry out the commissioning of an automatic production line using a PLC, electro-pneumatic components and an HMI control panel.
Knowledge
The student will achieve knowledge on Siemens PLC and HMI programming, and integration of electro pneumatic systems in an automatic production line.
Skills
The student will be able to develop programming and troubleshooting skills.
This module culminates with a project which challenges students to carry out the commissioning of an automatic production line combining all the elements they have worked with: PLC, HMI and electro pneumatic systems.
Competence
Within this module, students can expect to have a grasp of what is involved in the automation technology. The student will learn to use different elements that are essential in automatic processes in order to achieve the specifications that an automatic production line must have. Additionally, the student will learn to work as part of a team and to use safety rules.
