March International Modules: An Enriching Experience

The March international modules at Armeria Eskola have come to an end, and we can proudly say that they have been a rewarding and successful experience for both students and teachers. Together with 15 students from Germany, Slovakia, Finland, and the Netherlands, we worked on three exciting modules: Process Automation, Electroerosion Manufacturing Techniques, and Electronics and Socio-Healthcare.
According to the students themselves, the modules have enhanced their technical skills and promoted teamwork. Cultural and socio-professional experiences, such as visits to Albaola and workshops at Kutxa Espacio in Donostia, have been essential for exploring the surroundings and strengthening group cohesion.
Electronics and Socio-Healthcare: Interdisciplinary Collaboration
For the second consecutive year, this cross-disciplinary module has been a resounding success, thanks to interdisciplinary cooperation and contributions to the Eibar community. Alongside students from the Netherlands, participants worked on the practical application of electronic devices in the context of socio-healthcare. Additionally, during a special visit to the Egogain day center, students engaged in conversations with residents to better understand their needs and wishes. Based on this interaction, they adapted the humanoid robot Pepper to provide entertainment and assistance for the residents.
Thanks to this innovative use of technology, residents were able to virtually visit their favorite places in the Basque Country, as well as iconic cities abroad, through Virtual Reality. This experience not only brought smiles to the residents but also gave students the unique opportunity to explore the potential of humanized technology, developing a comprehensive professional and human perspective.
Our sincerest thanks go to all the students and teachers who participated, as well as the visiting international students and staff. We are already working on preparations for next year’s edition!
